Specialist Teachers

TCG is very lucky to have some wonderful specialist teachers in the areas of Music, Movement, Arabic and Art. Children throughout the school (from Pre-Nursery to PS2) enjoy sessions throughout the week with Nuket (Math), Loma (Music), Nadja (Movement), Viviane (Arabic) and Isabell (Art).

My name is Loma Mawassi and I am Lebanese. Before moving to Dubai in 2008, I lived in France. I have a Bachelors Degree in Music and Musicology from the University of Sorbonne in Paris and a Music Teacher diploma. I speak Arabic, French and English. I have learned both systems of music (Oriental and Occidental). In addition to singing and dancing, I play Kanoun (stringed instrument), piano and guitar. This is my first year at The Children's Garden and I'll be working on a child centred curriculum by combining the best music learning methods in orff, Kodaly and Suzuki.

Nadja Issa was born in Vienna, to an Austrian Mother and Egyptian Father and grew up in Germany and Egypt (Cairo).  After leaving High School, she studied musical and dance education in Stuttgart (Germany).  Since 2000, Nadja has been creating and developing her own shows for both "Flight Acrobatics" and also performing on the walls of buildings!  For further details, visit her website www.nadjaissa.com.

My name is Viviane, I am a Lebanese national. Like most Lebanese, I speak Arabic, French and English. I have been teaching for more than 10 years, 4 of which have been at TCG. Teaching Arabic to children is a delicate balance between the language and the culture and customs of the UAE. My aspiration for this school year is to convey the language esentials and to put the children on the path of understanding the richness of the culture.

Hello, my name is Nuket and I'm from Turkey. I graduated from Istanbul University as a Mathematician and I also have a teaching certificate from Marmara University in Istanbul. While still in Istanbul, I worked for 10 years as a maths teacher in high schools. Eight years ago I moved to Dubai, and I've been working at TCG since it opened in the Green Community. I am the TCG Maths Coordinator for both the Green Community and Jumeira. Working for TCG has given me the opportunity to teach younger children and this experience has meant that I am now writing a book about how to teach Maths to little ones in a fun way.

My name is Isabell Kober. I come from Germany where I studied German language and Art at the University of Education in Weingarten. Before moving to Dubai in 2007, I worked at a Secondary school. This is my second year at TCG and after being the teacher in Indigo Class, I am looking forward to being the Art Coordinator and the teaching assistant in PS2 Desert Fox Class. As well as working with children, I love to do sports and arts, play the piano and to read.
