End of Term Puppet Shows

On Wednesday we had our last day of term as well as our last day of TCGs first end of term puppet show week.
Firstly all the children from the English-German classes had the opportunity to help the bewitched Kasperle escape from the witchs cave and to follow the Queens invitation to her country Kunterbunt. At the end they were welcomed with the song I like to move it. The children really enjoyed to dance and celebrate the German puppet shows happy ending.
Next all the English/French classes had their turn with The French Surprise Show. Little zebra Pipo was waiting for his birthday and the birthday fairy to arrive. His friends organised a nice birthday cake for him and at the end all children were surprised with a real firework.
Last but not least all PS 1 and PS 2 classes were invited to watch Mrs. Gumpys Outing. The younger children admired TCGs graduating PS 2 Gazelle class performing a role play all by themselves.
TCGs first end of term puppet show week was a big success as we could see how children enjoy the puppet shows and also how they get used to interacting with the puppets.
I think that I can speak for all actors behind the stage that we had a lot of fun while playing and that the puppet shows fit in very well in TCGs philosophy.

Happy Holidays !

The school year has come to an end and Summer School starts on Sunday. We would like to wish you all a safe and happy summer. There are still some Summer School spaces available so if you are interested, please contact Cornelia cfaza@childrensgarden.ae  for further details.

Admin working hours during the summer will be 8.30am - 2.30pm.

Puppet Show Week

After the great success of our first public puppet show ‘The Hungry Crocodile’ at TCG Jumeira and TCG Green Community we had planned to finish our end of term with something very special this year: TCG’s first ‘End of Term Puppet Show Week’.

Today all classes had the opportunity to choose between four puppet shows in three different languages!!! First the German Kasperle had a turn with ‘Auch Kasperle braucht Freunde’. Then all PS 1 and PS 2 classes had the option to watch the Arabic stick puppet show ‘The New Shoe’. Last but not least all Nursery and Pre Nursery classes had a lot of fun to see how ‘Mortimer’ (English show) did not want to sleep. But this was just the beginning …

… On Wednesday we are looking forward to seeing another German show (‘Kasper wird verzaubert’), a ‘French Surprise Show’ as well as two English shows ‘Mr.Gumpy’s Outing’ and ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’.

Graduation Day 2010

Emotions ran high at TCG on Thursday 17th June - Graduation Day was here!

The reception area at The Childrens Garden was filled with incredibly proud parents ready to watch their children perform their Graduation show. Children from English/ French PS2 Classes started the proceedings by putting on a wonderful show for the parents and staff. Followed by the English / German PS2 Classes who had a similar show. The children entertained their parents with a variety of songs in three different languages! Then with the help of Ms Nadja, the children performed a fabulous dance and movement production. The TCG PS2 choir arranged by Ms Loma performed beautifully in front of their parents.

The parents were all so very proud of their young children who have blossomed into well balanced, creative and considerate learners who are ready to take the next step of their journey to Grade 1. For the teachers alike, it was a very emotional and proud day as we have watched these children grow and develop over the years.
We would like to thank all those who contributed to todays events and a special thanks to Miss Jill, Miss Birgit, Miss Hanady and Miss Soukeina who have helped to prepare the children for the challenges they will meet along the way.
