Class of the Month

This page is all about celebrating the children of TCG and takes a look in to classroom life throughout the school.

 

Winter Wonderland Fun

During December the children of Falcon and Oryx Classes became little worker bees. They were Confectioners, Carpenters, Lamp Designers and Snowmen!

The children in Falcon Class were very busy designing and making their own lamps. There is even a catalogue of their designs to take a browse through. Take a moment in school to look at the creativity and hard work that went into their designs.

After looking at various IKEA catalogues for inspiration, the children embarked on designing their own lamps. They used a variety of materials from decorative paper, wool, pens and pencils. They then transferred their designs to the lantern paper, very carefully sewing their lamps into shape.

 The lamps are very proudly on display outside of the classroom, with price tags!! They are as you would imagine ‘Priceless’.

The ‘Oryx Winter Workshop’ was very busy also throughout the month of December. The children in Oryx Class became very skilled carpenters as they made their ‘Winter Scenes’

The children of Falcon and Oryx classes loved becoming confectioners for the day, as they made Peppermint bark.

Given permission to hit things with a hammer, went down very well indeed!!

Following the recipe, the children were introduced to simple concepts such as solids, liquids, & melting.

To end our wintery theme the children had a lot of fun being snowmen for the day. Right down to their carrot noses.
