Arabian Oryx and Falcon

Arabian Oryx

The Arabian Oryx became extinct in the early 1960’s and although its natural range is not clear, it was probably found in and around the Liwa as well as the mountain plains. It was the largest of the Arabian Antelope and can survive in areas without trees or standing water.

In the Arabian Oryx class, we believe that playing is learning and learning is playing.

The journey is the destination.

Falcon

The Falcon is approximately 9kg and has a life span of 9 years. They are small birds of prey and are related to the hawk and eagle. They have pointed wings and long tails.

A holistic approach to teaching is followed in the Falcon class and when this is put into practice, it helps to develop creative skills and has also been an effective way of mind development for the child.

Left to Right:

My Name is Ms. Silvia. I grew up in Vienna, Austria, where I finished my Pedagogic Academy 1994. When I was six years old my decision to be a teacher was done. I taught in Austria for 4 years and worked with students in different age groups since I arrived in Dubai 7 years ago.
I am excited to start with Pre school 1, German class, this academic year and expect a successful year with a lot of fun, challenges and a lot of work to do for my classes and myself.

Hello, I'm Genia and I joined the Arabian Oryx class as the teaching assistant in April 2009. I am from Germany, where I was self-employed for the past few years. I have been living in Dubai, with my family, since September 2008.  My passion is reading books and, of course, my family! I'm impressed with what children can achieve and learn at this young age. It is totally different to what children do in a German Kindergarten.I am looking forward to the new school year with our new children.

Hello, my name is Ms. Julie and I am the English Teacher in the Falcon Class. I came to Dubai from England in May 2008. I have worked with children of many ages and many different abilities for over 14 years, specializing in Special Needs children. I hold a National Diploma in Early Years. I have worked here at The Childrens Garden since September 2008. I have a passion for teaching and for children, with creative minds and limitless energy. When you put that together, you have something very special.I pride myself on treating each child as an individual with unique strengths, needs, interests and skills. In my spare time I like to enjoy the beach with friends, reading, and music.

Hello, my name is Idil, I was born in 1981 in Istanbul. I am Turkish. I moved to Dubai 2 years ago. In high school I studied painting at Anatolian Art School and I have a bachelor degree of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Marmara University in Istanbul. Previously, I have worked in many Advertising Agencies, newspapers and magazines as an Art Director in Turkey. I started working as a freelance graphic designer when I moved to Dubai and have worked on projects for many multinational companies.
I have given private creative art lessons to small groups of children from age 4-14 years old since I am fond of children’s imagination and their creative world. I love to work with young children who definitely have a much more creative eye than adults, they have the innate inspiration.
All we need to teach them is how to express it… I am hoping to be able to help children discover their creative skills with courage.'
